The Body Studio is a resolutely unique hybrid of art gallery quality imagery with house-call mobility. Below, you’ll find some of the significant differences between The Body and other studios in the forms of Quality, Confidentiality, Comfort, and Theme.

Quality

An important distinction of The Body Studio is in the extraordinary quality of the final images, and the unique process that creates them. The Body images are digitally mastered, then carefully hand printed and hand cut by the artist. Every step of the production, delivery, and archiving process obeys a strict, Body Studio formulated, art conservation method. That is of importance to Body Studio clients for two reasons: Foremost, it means that their photographs are very carefully created to last for lifetimes without deterioration. Secondly, it means that their privacy is upheld. The images are seen only by the artist, the subject, and whomever the subject chooses to share them with.

Confidentiality

Due to the sensitive nature of the imagery produced by The Body Studio, client privacy is very important. As previously mentioned, Body Studio images are printed by the artist, in a private, in-house post-production studio (with the exception of very large images). In addition to the control of quality this affords, clients can be sure that their photographs will not circulate through a traditional photolab, as they almost certainly would with other photo studios.

Body clients can also be assured that The Body Studio will not use their images for any reason without their expressed permission. All images will be digitally archived for future printing at the discretion of the client.

Comfort

Comfort is key at The Body Studio. The Body was created to encourage freedom of expression. That freedom is easily enjoyed when clients feel safe, comfortable and totally themselves. Genuine comfort in a photographic subject is the difference between good shots and great shots. As the artist, I do everything that I can to make sure that my subjects are comfortable. Friends, food, music and other creature comforts are all welcome additions to a Body Studio shoot. Comfort is key.

Theme

The theme of The Body Studio is certainly very unique, though perhaps not very obvious. On the surface, it seems unique that The Body Studio shoots only nudes, perhaps even more unique that The Body shoots only women, however, its profound uniqueness can be summed up in a single word that encompasses a great deal of meaning. That word is honesty. The most popular untruth about photography is that the camera never lies. The camera lies incessantly. It often lies by feigning an emotion (for one of a million reasons). At The Body Studio, unrestricted honesty of expression and emotion are encouraged. The Body is far more interested in capturing who a subject naturally is rather than a fantasy or feigned expression of who they are. This fact is a primary reason why The Body only shoots nudes. Honesty and genuine expression come much more abruptly when there is nothing to hide. Real expressions of happiness, love, lust, fear, rejection, acceptance, strength, elation, power, sadness, submission, eroticism, depression, et cetera, are so much more evocative and meaningful and symbolic when they are true. Take another look at the portfolio, you might see a range of expression, emotion, meaning and symbolism that you may not have noticed the first time around.
